Economic wanker of the day

  - by New Deal democrat

"recessions are not a bad thing - they are simply the pause that refreshes the economy."
Lance Roberts, Street Talk Live

Tell that to the 5 million Americans who lost their jobs in the last recession and still haven't found work, you asshole.

P.S.:  Yes I do know they're not all the same people.

From Bonddad:

First, I have a distinct feeling that Mr. Roberts has a high net worth and, in general, has felt no pain as a result of the last four years.

Secondly, I have a feeling that Mr. Roberts probably doesn't know anyone who has truly suffered over the last 4 years.

Third, I would add that Mr. Roberts is a self-centered and selfish ass.

I'm shocked by your personal attacks against Mr. Roberts, though I shouldn't be surprised.

What's truly sad is that you two have to resort to ad hominem attacks against followers of Austrian economics.

Is the Keynesian Philosophy - When the facts don't support your argument then belittle them?

I looked for the work "socialism" in the post and couldn't find it. Maybe I'm not wearing the appropriate tin foil hat.

The nicest thing that can be said about Mr. Roberts statement is that it demonstrates (at best) a selfish nature and (at worst) a narcissistic personality. Neither characterization is flattering, but, then again, that's the point. To find that degree of emotional immaturity, one must typically engage a child in grade school. Or, put another way, empathy -- and the expression thereof -- is a sign of emotional maturity.

In addition, I'm not the one who said it; he is. If you don't like the fact that he's obviously a selfish and self-centered bastard (and that he obviously represents your point of view), maybe you should re-evaluate your philosophy/

More to the point, I deal with the nonsense that is Austrian economics in the following posts:

I am College Educated person who has been out of work for eight months now and I agree with you Hale.

Recessions are bad especially this one. Trying to find a job in this economy is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.

@ Hale Stewart,

No, you called Mr. Roberts "a selfish ass." And the New Deal democrat called him an "asshole".

I'm not going to fall for your stupid game and try arguing with you because you'll try to bring me down to your child like intellect after I've made you look completely foolish you'll then resort to calling me names.

Nice try, goodbye!

Dear anon

First, I included two posts which completely debunk the Austrian economic "theory." You include no rebuttal.

Secondly, the reality is the professed philosophy is one of complete uncaring for other individuals, to extol greed at the expense of compassion and empathy and, simply, to, in some way, make sure that "greed is good" (usually under the guise that the person professing the theory is also a "good christian.") That's the reality. Sorry to point out that harsh reality to you, but that's at the core.

Mr. Roberts and his ilk, "want what they want when they want it," which is at best childish, plain and simple.

The only good recession is the one that comes just in time to derail a 2nd Obama term.

And then, Anon, we can have Romney deepen it by implementing a full array of policies based Austrian economic theory.
